Professional Development
Interested in having us present a workshop?
VSA arts of Massachusetts trains teachers, artists, administrators, and parents
statewide in the ongoing use of the arts to engage students with different
learning styles and to bring students of all abilities together in the classroom.
We offer a variety of professional development opportunities, including:
"Start with the Arts": An instructional program created by
VSA arts for pre-school and early elementary school learners that uses the
arts to assist young children, including those with disabilities, in exploring
themes commonly taught in early childhood classrooms, while developing basic
literacy skills and self-expression. We offer workshops for educators and
parents.
VSAM's "Multi-Arts Resource Guide" provides teachers, paraprofessionals
and after school care providers with a crucial tool for utilizing arts activities
in teaching the core curriculum to students of different ages and abilities.
VSAM offers workshops based on MARG for teaching artists, regular and special
education teachers and paraprofessionals.
Art and UDL(Universal Design for Learning): This workshop explores the concept
of the intersection between arts-based instruction and UDL. Materials will
be provided to give participants the opportunity to view their own work through
the UDL lens. Visit a blog about this workshop.
